A tela dos homens primitivos era a parede e o teto de cavernas. Lá, retratavam cenas cotidianas, como os animais que caçavam e seres humanos. Sua preocupação não era com a fidelidade entre os desenhos e a realidade, mas com o registro em si, contando histórias por meio de silhuetas. Milhares de anos depois, a arte rupestre continua tendo importância, sendo preservada, estudada e admirada.
Por isso, considero todo desenho uma forma de arte, sejam rabiscos de uma criança, um retrato à mão livre, um rascunho despretensioso ou uma tela em um museu. O importante é expressar os sentimentos e as emoções, independentemente da maneira como faz isso.
